Council Career

Courtney was voted onto Englewood City Council in January 2024 by a special appointment of the then council. Since her appointment, she has remained an active voice, working to represent the residents of Englewood.

The City of Englewood has been working on a Strategic Plan in 2025. Courtney has been the council representative on the Strategic Plan Steering Committee working closely with the consultants from McBride, Dale, Clarion, city staff and other committee members. In June of 2025, Council voted unanimously to adopt the proposed Strategic Plan. In July of 2025, Council voted to move forward with continuing work with the consultants to develop Englewood's downtown. Courtney will remain the council representative on the Oversight Committee as they move through this next phase of the Strategic Plan. She looks forward to working on this project, hoping improvements to the downtown area will continue to make Englewood a desirable place to live and visit.

Courtney completed the Voinovich Academy for Excellence in Public Service in 2024.

"It has been an honor to serve on council. My favorite role has been serving on the strategic plan committee, collaborating with others, to bring change to the city that will impact future generations." -Courtney Rietman
